How to Make a Flat Pattern of This Part - Car Front Bumper?

Help please !

I am trying to make a flat pattern of this bumper part. But do not know how to model this part in Sheet Metal inviroment and then generate flat pattern automatcally. Part section is channel 2" flange and 14" hight, 3/16" aliminum sheet rolled with 3 different radius at different sections and some cut outs. I made this one with SWEEP feature, can not get flat pattern.

How will you keep this portion from rippling when rolling the part?

I don't think you will get a good flat pattern for that as the material will have to be deep-form stretched.

Are you familiar with the Contour Roll tool?

Attach your *.ipt file here.

2012?

Your going to have a hard time finding anyone with that release.

Have you installed all Service Packs for 2012?

Do you mean the newer release will make the flat pattern of this part easier? thanks.

@JDMather means that it will be hard to find someone here using Inventor 2012 to make changes and save your file.  Once we save your file in a newer version of Inventor you will not be able to open it up in Inventor 2012.

No. No difference in later releases in terms of this geometry.

I don't think a flat pattern is possible even in r2017.

Since you wouldn't be able to read it even if I could get a Contour Roll to work, I am not inclined to even try.

There are issues with Contour Roll results and your part doesn't look manufacturable without ripples or special tooling.

So everything stacks up against even attempting this part.
