How to? (Dimension questions)

Hi all,

I would like to know if the following can be done (Hopefully without iLogic):

Can you set your dimension style so that when you dimension a line that has no decimals it will show only the whole number, but when you dimension a line that DOES have decimals it shows the decimals to whatever point you have specified, in this case to 2 decimals?

You can control this in your Dimension style by unchecking Display Trailing Zeros, and setting the precision to two decimals.  With this, 1" would display as just 1 in your dimension, while 1 1/2" would display as 1.5

Is this what you're after?

What I do is set up Dimension Styles for 0   .1   .12 and .123 decimal places.

Then I dimension at least one of each style as needed.

Then I go through and dimension ALL other dimensions with the most common style.

Finally, I go back and Match Properties the intended style on the previous step.

This requires discipline though in not accidently missing a change.

Oh wait a minute.

Are you referring to sketch dimensioning or to drawing dimensioning?

Would 1.05" display as 1" or as 1.05"?

With precision set to 2 decimals, it should display as 1.05 since the second place is not a zero.
