How to create a pre-dimensioned drawing drop-in

I am trying to see if there is a way to create a thread detail callout that I can drop into a drawing that is already dimensioned correctly (refer to picture). Butress Thread Callout.JPG

I would like to be able to drop this in without actually having to go create it in the model then do a detail on the drawing and dimension. I realize I could make an actual part file so I could make it as needed and then drop it in wherever, but is there some kind of way to do this and have the dimensions already called out? I looked into the Sketch Symbols but, from what I can tell, it doesn't look like it can do that.

If anyone has any insight that they could offer I would appreciate it.

What you could do is create a sketched symbol in your drawing format.

Then with the drawings you need it in, just insert the symbol.  This would not be associated with any model.  It would require a little work in sketching it upfront, but once done, easy peasy to insert.

I had thought of that, I just didn't know if there was an easier way.

The only other thing I can think of besides iLogic, would be to create a sketch block.  Just not sure if these work well with drawings as the symbols do.

I think the sketch symbols may be the easiest for this situation. Thank you!
