It's Friday again! (already?! Smiley Surprised)

So that means; Picture time.

Still very busy, but finished the alteration i showed the cylinder of last week.

Made a quick render of the assembly i needed it for, without showing too much functional details.

And they also got round to actually lasercutting the company logo i showed a render of a few weeks ago, here's a photograph of it:

Bit rough around the edges because of the galvanized material but it came out pretty well as none of the smaller sections melted through.

So, did anyone else find a spare moment to make a nice render?

Or do you have a cool design to share?

Post it here and give everyone a nice Friday distraction. Smiley Wink

Have a good weekend!

Hi @-niels-,

Greetings from the holiday, the picture is not made with invenor, but with the camera ...

First time posting on the pictures posts, but here's a quick one of a current project.  Nothing special, as I really don't have the time to make it pretty and it's just a quick grab from within Inventor.Truck Pic Side.jpgTruck Pic ISO.jpg

Hi,

I haven't had much time lately to do renders (work too busy)

so am trying to get some generic materials set up. Lots of trial

and error renders to see what I like. Here's an old model I rendered.

Mapping is an issue with some materials, so still need lots more tests

Actually spent some time on a personal project for a change.

While going through a box of old papers from my dad, I came across a plan he used back in the late 60s to build a balsa wood model of a Fokker DR-1 triplane.  This was long before the days of remote control.  It made one free flight that went great right until it flew further than we expected and ended in the Delaware River.  For the heck of it I decided to try and model it using the old plans.

Not completed, but what I've got so far.

Next step is to finish the fuselage, then start on the wings.

@Anonymous, Nice of you to join this fun topic!

For a first time post i can only say: Awesome model, even if it's just an inventor screengrab.

(looks like a raytrace, is it?)

@Ray_Feiler, Nice assembly line, or packaging line? or....? what's it for??

@karthur1, Cool, doesn't look quite to scale in the background... is it a big press?

@Anonymous, nice looking materials... bit weird looking edges on the disc beneath your hook judging by the number texture.

Also think the disc could use some more bump or a normal map to define those deeper scratches.

@mpatchus, Wow, can't wait to see the finished model! looks like a fun project.

@S_May, Enjoy your holiday!

Its large, just not that big.  Scale is a little off.

Thanks!  A lot of specialized add-ins (with MANY lines of code) have gone into making these easier than normal to model.  Still a long way to go (I am relatively new at this company and talked them into making the switch from ACAD), but all is coming along nicely.

And it is not a Ray Trace. Just realistic with shadows and reflections on.
