Easiest way to make an hole circle

Hello!

I have one question.
For the easiest way to make an hole circle. Is that to make a point in a sketch and then use hole command?

It could be easier to make an hole circle if i can use the hole feature, and then choose the number of holes and a center point to make for example 10 holes in a flange.

Thanks, Robert

Hi!

Depends the situation.

If it is only one hole... maybe  a sketch circle and one extrusion will be quicker and simple.

If it's several holes, point sketch and hole tool.

If is concentric with a fillet.... hole concentric.

Be ware if you can do patterns...

like i said... deppend the situation.

Ok, then i think there is no easier way to make the hole pattern without a sketch?

Without sketch, you can place the hole as "linear option".

And then, perform the pattern...

With the geometry you're showing, there is no function to make a hole without a sketch.
There are no linear references and if you select any of the circles you get the concentric option, which doesn't have an offset option.

This would be a nice feature to put on the ideastation though, if you make a post for it there and link back here i'll cast a vote for it.

I can imagine some occasions where being able to offset from a radius without having to draw an entire sketch could come in handy, but the biggest problem is probably the angular reference needed to place the hole somewhere on the circle.
(which is why you need to sketch it now.)

Yes, it would be nice to have it. If you just want to make this part, the holes can be placed everywere, but on a different geometry, maby not.

Here is the link (if it works :))
