Detail view label

Does this happen to anyone else? When I create a detail view on a drawing, the label sometimes doesn't start at 'A' and then jumps to different letters for any other detail views that I create. Today, I created a detail view on a brand new drawing, with no other detail views and it was labeled as 'B' And the same thing for section view labels. Today, on the same drawing I created two section views, the first one was labeled 'A' but the second was labeled 'C'

There are two detailers where I work (myself and one other) this also happens to him when creating drawings. Is this normal? And how can I change it?

Depending on how you setup your template the fault may be there. I have templates where I want certain properties so I need to put a part on the template, work with the part properties and then delete the part. If View A got used then the template will always start at "B".

For those like me who regularly delete views and bounce around drawings I have found this to work wonders for me.

It had a few issues when I bought it as in it would not go past "View Z" but I emailed the software creators and they fixed it so it works great now. It grabs the first view on page one of your drawing, makes it 'A' and goes from there thru your drawing

Hi, Jimmy I am curious about this error as well. Wound you please attach the drawing template file or your dataset? Or you can send them directly to shiyong.lin@autodesk.com. Thanks very much for using Inventor! Shiyong

I need the Detail views to have alphabets and the section to have numbers. Do we have any VBA script for this ?

Hi @Anonymous

Welcome to the forum. I don't have a specific code for your need however you can start by identifying the view type like >>here<< and then renumber them like >>here<<
