Cut a thread half

Hi! The attached picture itself describes the problem well. I've created threaded coils by means of Thread Modeller (AI'2015). For some reason I want to subtract a rectangle across the coils by extrusion. The coils always remain intact. Would you let me know how to deal with this issue? Thank you.

Notice that you have 3 Solid Bodies.

Use the Combine command to combine the 3 bodies into one before you do the Extrude - Cut.

Did you check the thread-form profile and make sure it is appropriate (60° and not Whitworth 50°)?

Can you attach your ipt file here?

Yes, it works. Thanks a lot for helping me.

BTW, I've donloaded the model from this very forum.

Regards!

Edit the sketch and note the threadform angle of 55°.

This is a British Whitworth threadform - generally obsolete in this century.

Inch or metric standards that I am aware of use a 60° angle.
