Cleaning up imported IGES file

Looking for some tips/direction on how to clean up an imported IGES file. Ultimately, it's a place holder in a 3D layout, but I need it to not have all these lines running through it. 

For example, on this panel it's cut into two triangles. How can I combine these and just make it a single surface?

Use Delete face tool (select repair mode on dialog box).
