Certain hatch patterns not being printed

Anonymous
Not applicable

After upgrading to 2016, certain hatch patterns are not being printed. Look at following example

In Inventor:

1.jpg

PDF file:

2.jpg

It looks like certain hatch patterns are not getting printed regardless of line weight, colour, etc.

Anyone had similar issue?! Smiley Frustrated

Would it be possible to get an updated ETA for a fix on the hatch printing issue? It's been an ongoing issue since April with no timeline of a fix.

TIA

Hi,

This issue should have been addressed as part of the 2016 SP1 fixes. This is currently being Beta tested. If you would like to try it then you can apply for the Beta using this one-time sign-up link:

Thanks,
Chris

Thanks Chris,

Appreciate the response and it's good to see that there is work being done. Unfortunately I'm not able to participate in the beta program. Thanks for the invite, though.

Regards,

John

Is there an updated ETA on when we can expect to get the program functioning like it's intended?

The Inventor 2016 R2 release, which includes the SP1 fixes, is planned for release before the end of this week.

Sorry for the inconvenience,

Chris

@ChrisMitchell01

What if a user doesn't want to upgrade to the R2 version or is not on subscription to get it...  Will SP1 for Inventor 2016 also be released at the end of the week?

Yes, SP1 will also be released this week, (& also for LT & View). If you're not on subscription then you will get SP1.

Thanks

Chris

I may be being dense here, but I followed the link and am having a hard time finding what I should be downloading, I checked with my manager and we should definately be subscription users of the building design suite ultimate.

Yeah in your case since you have Build Design Suite it would be confusing..  Just install SP1 per this image

Clarification..   You can also install the R2/SP1 version as well.  I was thinking it was only for users who had Inventor Professional installed on their machine and had an active subscription..

Paul,

Are you saying that the SP1/R2 install didn't work, or that your hatch patterns are still not being printed ? If you had install issues, then please check the log files which shoul dbe in your %temp% folder. There is various related information in this topic:

Re: Inventor 2016 R2 Update (Customers with Subscription) & Inventor Service

If you still have issues with hatch patterns, could you please attach a sample file showing the problem along with all supporting info so that we can further investigate ?

Thanks

Chris

The SP1 for non-subscription customers IS NOT INSTALLING/WORKING when I first down-loaded it it seemed to extract & install but on running and checking  IV say different and it is NOT showing in Installed Programs or Installed Updates

I created a new thread with regards to the installation problem at http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/inventor-general-discussion/sp1-has-been-installed-but-not-according-t...

I have succesfully updated IV sp1/R2 and the issue is still present. Custom hatch patterns will export to PDF but WILL NOT show up in plot preview or plotted drawing. I would add attachments but I cannot post here from my work pc, only mobile.

From the other thread you referenced it seems that we're waiting for your SP1 install log files to better understand why SP1 didn't install.

Also if you have an idw file where hatching is not printing, please provide it.

Thanks

Chris
