BOM Base qty value does not match Parameter value

Hello, I'm having trouble with the value in the base qty of the BOM. This only happens when i make a custom parameter and set it to the base qty. The value in the parameter list is correct the value in the Base Qty drop down is not. The only way I've been able to fix it is to add another custom parameter and reset the Base Qty to the new parameter. Hopefully this makes sense please see the attached screenshots.

Hi Timothy,

The behavior does not look right to me. Please share the files here or send them to me directly (johnson.shiue@autodesk.com). I would like to see why the G_L is not properly updated.

Many thanks!

Hi Tim,

Like I replied to you in the email, the issue is related to the suppressed derived node in the mirrored frame member. The G_L parameter from the source cannot be propagated to the derived mirrored member because the link is suppressed. If you unsuppress the link, the values should be in sync.

Many thanks!

UPDATE VALUE ISSUE.PNG

I did not find a solution for this issue and I've attached another example of the value in the Base Quantity field not matching the value in the parameter field.

Hi Timothy,

The attached part does not seem to be the same as the one in the image. Could you share the part you have?

I also notice another issue with LENGTH ISSUE.ipt. There is a unitless parameter called SQINCH but its value is set to 1in. This is wrong. It can lead to BOM errors.

There is a workflow to make area as BOM quantity. If you want to know how, I can show you.

Many thanks!

Hi Timothy,

It does look like a bug to me. I need to work with the project to understand it better. Something is wrong with the workflow.

In the meantime, the workaround is to create a User Parameter and have it linked to the Model Parameter dictating the length. Then use the parameter (or the Model Parameter) as the Base QTY.

Many thanks!
