Adding a font to Inventor

I am using AutoCAD Mechanical and Inventor 2008 and want to add a font. It is News Gothic with a .otf extention. It seems that I am able to cut the text from a word document and paste it into my Part Drawing and that seems to work. But I cannot add the font to the list of available fonts in the Styles Manager. Does anyone know how to add the font so I can add it to my drawing styles.

Yes, as I mentioned I can put the text on a word document and copy it then I
can past it on the part in sketch.

To my knowledge Inventor only supports truetype fonts (.ttf), so copy/paste would be the only method to get it into a sketch.

Depending on what you need it for i'd be careful with using opentype, worst case it might get replaced with a font that inventor uses...

It might be worth making an idea for adding opentype fonts to inventor, i'd vote for that.

Thanks, I will suggest that as well. It seems that the fonts I pasted into
the part stayed as the News Gothic I intended, of course I am no expert on
fonts, however the capital "G" is recognized by the little tail off the
right side. Gothic

Thanks for your input and help.

The normal process is to simply put the font into the C:Windows/Fonts folder..

Inventor uses the fonts in the default windows location.

But as stated Inventor seems to only use true type fonts..
