A Pipe Fitting Modelling Challenge that's got my stumped!

I have a straight 10" pipe with two elbows going into it.

Please see the attached pdf.

I don't know how to cut the holes the two elbows would make in the straight pipe.

I have tried subtracting solids using the Copy Object and then the Sculpt command.

But, I can't get it to work!

I've already created the elbows cut to how I need. I just need to make the holes in the straight pipe 😫

Possibly try sweeping the pipe ID along the Elbow Centerline?

This is difficult because of the obscure angles the elbows are coming in at.

Hi Frank,

This can be done by using Surface Modeling workflows. First, edit the elbow and move EOP right below the Sweep feature. Use Thicken/Offset to create a surface based on the inner face of the elbow. Then move EOP down. Repeat the same steps for the other elbow.

Now, edit the pipe and use Copy Objects to link the two offset surfaces. Lastly, use Sculpt or Split command and select the offset surfaces to cut the pipe. Please see attached file.

Many thanks!
