3D PDF Export - In Acrobat not visible

Hi,

I have to export my assembly file of machine to 3D pdf for my customer. It seems that everything is OK, but if I open pdf in old or new Acrobat Reader (version 17.012.20098) all parts are not visible (same problem has my customer). In tree in Acrobat are all of them but if I try right click and visible all parts it is the same. I have this problem for long time, for some very simples assembly it is working.

I try this on my PC and notebook, problem is the same. I have updated Inventor 2018.1.1 (Build 171). On PC Windows 7, on notebook Windows 10. In Inventor 2017 was all ok.

Thank you very much for your help.

Regards,

Premek

Do you have Enable 3d playing of 3D content enabled?

Can you share this assembly?

Do you have weldment files in it?

Can you try my template?

I do not use weldment, I do not like it :).

I try your template but did not work. In attachment is my 3D pdf, but thid have unsual small byte size. I also add 3D pdf from your template.

Also in attachment is pack and go of this project. You can try it.

I think in version 2017 I did not have these problems.

In Inventor 2017 I can export much more difficult assembly, 3D pdf has more that 30 MB and this only take some export time (about 30 minutes).

So part of it is the weldment ... (and why I asked in the prior when I saw your image, it looked familiar)

there is a known issue with weldments inserted into another assembly ...

might be something @johnsonshiue needs to look at more ...

Frame works fine ....outside of being in another assembly:

But if I put it into another assembly:

Hi! I have seen this behavior before. Somehow the visible components are exported but turned off by default in the 3D PDF file. If you click on the tree view in Acrobat reader, you will see quite a few components are unchecked. The behavior does not make sense. I will work with project team to understand it better.

Many thanks!

So you find where is problem... That I have weldement in assembly I forgot. Probably I have to wait for future solution or do not use weldement. Or export weldement to stp or another format and import again only for 3D pdf :).

Hi Premysl,

this problem has been fixed in 2018.R2, please test it in the Alpha release (September). Thanks.

@Martin.Tomko

You mean 2018.2 ?  I thought the "R" was removed now ?

I only say this .. if people search later and see this they might be looking for the R2 update ...

Please know I wasn't trying to correct you ...

I've just seen people get all upset down the road ... saying YOU said R ... after they look for an hour they figure it out

@deividas  As stated here the original issue (related to use of Weldment) had been fixed back in Inventor 2018.2 release.

Is your model using any weldments?

Can you provide more information.. screen shots/3d pdf file,etc.. please?

Hi! I believe this is a bug/limitation in Design View, if I recalled it correctly. Try this. Add the wood appearance styles to the assembly. Does it export correctly now?

Many thanks!
