Instability in 3dsmax 2017

I have several problems in the last days, both with the 2018 version that I could not install, now that I could install version 2017, this error appears and does not enter the software?
What's happening with Autodesk software? have been better.

fill that out and give all the information and submit it, the thing will give you an crash reporting error number and letters if you post that here someone at autodesk will look it up and give you an answer,

make sure you have all the 3ds max lastest updates and hotfixes.

also you can go into your windows event viwer double click on windows logs and applications, look up any error or warning to do with 3ds max and double click on that eror or warning windows will give you a short description of what maybe causing it if you run that through google or post it here someone will try to help you

Hi @Tassoniero

Thanks for bring this issue to the forums! I would love to try and help out!

Three things.

  1. If you are able to reproduce this crash, would you be able to fill out the form and submit it, then send me a private message with either the CER report number, or your email address (please don't post your email address to the public forum).
  2. Would you describe what tools you were using when the crash occurred? That way I can narrow down the cause, and maybe try to reproduce it.
  3. What graphics hardware are you using? have you cross referenced your computer hardware with the recommended list?

I look forward to helping resolve this issue 😄

I will try to use 3dmax again 2014, almost had no problems!

Thanks for the additional information!

I would guess that it is some sort of hardware issue, if you aren't able to launch either 3ds Max 2017, or 2018, here is the list of recommended graphics cards for 3ds Max.

Hey @natasha.l, would you have any insight into this?

Olá @hagen.deloss

Mudei a pasta Plugin_BAK e aparentemente funcionou.

Obrigado pela ajuda.

Whilst your GPU may be on the lower end being a student license user shouldnt have any difference as only the meta data changes.

Can you give us your system spec?

@Tassoniero

That's awesome to hear! For those that don't want to translate, the above issue was resolved by renaming the Plugin folder to Plugin_BAK, as outlined in this article.

This folder can be found under C:\Program Files\Autodesk\3ds Max <version>

I would suggest re-installing the plugin causing the performance issue, and cross checking your computers system specifications to the plugins system requirements.

If you continue to have issues with any given plugin, you should contact that plugins creators 😄
