Unable to install on Windows Server 2019

Hello,

I am trying to install Autodesk Robot on a Windows Server 2019 machine. Midway through the installation (roughly 30%), the progress bar starts moving down back to zero, then I get an "Error 1624 failure".

I tried doing it again on a fresh installation (Install windows server 2019, install autodesk desktop app, install RSAPRO 2022), with the same result.

Revit 2021 / 2022 install cleanly in the same method.

What can I do?

Hello @noamgat8JLC7

Please review the “Install Failed - Error 1624” when installing Autodesk products.

Please follow these steps:

  1. Conduct a Clean Uninstall of the previous installation & use the Microsoft Troubleshooter Tool to complete it
  2. Reboot the computer, make sure apps are not auto running in the background
  3. Log in as Administrator (check your permissions, full control) or create a new profile
  4. Apply the latest Autodesk Licensing Service Update & Single Sign On Component (2020 & up).
  5. Use the Browser Download Method in your Autodesk Account or via the AVA | Autodesk Virtual Agent (download all the parts)

Please "Accept Solution" if a reply or replies have helped resolve the issue or answered your question, to help others in the community.

Thanks for the response. We have tried all of those steps, including formatting the computer and installing it from scratch, and we still get the same error.

Is there an installation log stored somewhere? What can we do?

Your IT folks know to look in each PC's user login person's TEMP folder for those log files: work with them. If that is you, well... .

In File Manager in Windows for example, the folder name in the address bar to type is %TEMP%

We need the msi log files to check.

Just a question, can you create an "online custom deployment" for Autodesk Robot and try to install through the deployment ? Because there the installation is a little bit different and if my guess is correct it could work. If not post the msi log files here.

I didn't think you could install Robot or Revit on the Server itself .. Thought it had to be W10 or W7

Hi!

We have not resolved the issue yet. Attaching a zip file with the install logs. If anyone can take a look and advise what to do next, we would appreciate it a lot.

@noamgat8JLC7 ,

thank you for your log files.

Just took a look and it looks like the installer had a problem with the access of the transformation file.

I have to check this on a virtual server ...

Okay I tried and run into the same error. I solved the problem with the modification of the file "C:\Autodesk\Robot_Structural_Analysis_Professional_2022_Multilingual_Win_64bit_dlm\x64\RSA\pkg.RSAPRO.xml".

I added the following variable to the TRANSFORMS parameter:

"TRANSFORMS=%INSTALL_SOURCE%\x64\%LANGUAGE_CODE%\RSA\RSA.mst"
