Hi @Anonymous Welcome to Autodesk Community!

As you already have the student license, you can re-download 3ds Max from our Virtual Agent (click on Download Links, choose product and version). Then try the installation again. Hope it works.

I did that and it did absolutely nothing, still getting the same error.

Hello @Anonymous,

What licensing error do you receive when you try to launch?

  1. Please review this post first Steps for Setting-Up Student Software
  2. Please confirm you had a complete download, if not try a Clean Uninstall & reinstall Use the Browser Download Method in your Autodesk Account
  3. You can try to conduct a License Reset, your activation file that allows you to activate may have been corrupted this will resolve that

Keep us posted.

I'm getting the error code 110, something to do with a license error. I have a screenshot of it attached to the original post

Hello @Anonymous,

Please try the reset license information I provided before, once you finish that then make sure to use the proper serial# & product key and verify it matches the installation screen (type it in, do not copy/paste).

How to find the Serial Number and Product Key for your Autodesk product

If you are still having an issue and it seems it is the serial #, fill out this form with the educational support team or use Register.autodesk.com

Keep us posted.

Well I've tried every solution so far and none worked. Instead I just have to use the 2018 versions at home, despite using 2017 at college. Hope my files can port over easily

Welcome to Autodesk....

It's frustrating with how buggy not only the software is but also their Activation & Registration process is.

I've been trying to activate my expired Maya 2015 license to no avail. Logging in is also giving me an issue saying that I have an invalid user name, password or client certificate.

Very frustrating experience

Hello @Anonymous and welcome to the community,

You can save your 2018 files as 2017 files by using the dropdown menu when you click File->Save As.  Please let me know if you have any questions.  Thanks!
