REVIT LT 2016 FAILED INSTALLATION: MediumLibraryfail 1603

Hello, It has been three days of failed attempts now and two days of no help from customer service after relentless begging at this point.

My system is a Windows 7 Home Premium SP1, 8GB Ram, Intel i, with well over a 1 TB of space on the C drive. Each time I attempt to download REVIT LT (monthly subscription based, downloaded from website) I see a common error of a 1603 with the medium Image Resolution Library and subsequent 1619 fails with Microsoft C++. My UAC is turned off an no firewall protection. All TEMP files have been deleted before installation. I have Inventor LT 2013 Suite downloaded on my computer, but that license has sence expired and I no longer use it. I also deleted all previous versions of C++ from that software before attempting to download. I am using Google Chrome as the browser to install the files. Please see my downloaded logs attached. At one point, I even saw the revit icon appear on my desktop, only to be stripped away right near the end of the install.

The link from Autodesk knowledge base to manually install the content library and the medium resolution image from C drive>Autodesk>WI>Autodesk REVIT LT 2016 worked for the content library manual install but did not work for the medium resolution image manual install. Instead, a box pops up saying "Source File Not Found: C:\Autodesk\WI\Autodesk Revit LT 2016|Content|ADSKMaterial|2016|ILM|Common~1.cab. Verify that the file exists and that you can access it."

I also tried to theory of placing the REVIT LT installation file into a C:/temp file as administrator. That also did not work.

There is another thread saying to use the Virtual download manager. But I am downloading the product from my management tab on my Autodesk account, so isn't that the same thing?

Really wish Autodesk would stop leading me down a rabbit hole on this one. Any help would be tremendously appreciated.

Hello SketcherLH and welcome to the Autodesk community!

It looks like you’re seeing Error 1603. Error 1603 is a generic error generated by the Microsoft Windows Installer (MSI) when a problem occurred during the installation of your Autodesk product. The following article(s) should help you resolve the problem:

Here is some general information about installation, licensing and downloading Autodesk software:

Here is your error:

Install	Autodesk Material Library 2016 - Medium Image Library	Failed	Download Failed, Installation aborted, Result=1603

I would recommend that you try downloading your product using the virtual assistant by following the directions here:
