Issue with Installing Revit 2018

I have previously installed Revit 2018 on my HP windows 7  workstation, but was receiving issues when trying to save worked was "sharing violation". I have uninstalled the program on my laptop and went to reinstall, but it will not install the Revit Server saying my workstation "must be installed on Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 or higher", yet Windows 7 system is higher. How can I go about installing the program on my computer?

So which product are we talking about, Revit or Revit Server? Two different products and as far as I am aware Revit Server can only run on a server OS...

It sounds like you accidentally downloaded the wrong installer?

So I am trying to Install Revit  2018 onto my Moblie workstation. The only issue I have been able to come across as to why Revit 2018 will not install is because of the Revit Server (seen in the image below). I downloaded Revit off my student licence and followed the instructions where I came across the install page. And pressed install.

This looks like a Revit Server installation. What does it say on your Autodesk profile under Products and Services? Just "Revit 2018" or "Revit Server 2018"?

Try downloading Revit 2018 from AVA:

You are installing tools/utilities of Revit..  Did you select Install (button), because you image shows you select Tools & Utilities.  Without your installation log file we can only speculate what the issue is at this point.  So attach your installation file here so we can review it.

Posting info: Sometimes the installation log file contains the serial # that was assigned to you.  Open your log file using Windows Notepad and perform a search on "/SN".  Depending on the number of installation attempts, your serial # may be located throughout the log file.  If present, remove or "X" out your serial # prior to posting.

Reboot your machine and try again...   Sounds like something has it opened...  Rebooting should clear that.

"Autodesk Revit 2018 Setup" is the Installation log I have been attempting to install. I have been selecting the "Install on this computer" (button). I have not been attempting to "Install tools & Utilities "

I rebooted my computer and have been able to download the installer, but when I press install to this computer I get an Error Code. Can you please fill me in on what it means?

Most times this points to your anti-virus is blocking it.

Set Windows User Access Control (UAC) to never notify

Disable your Anti-virus.

Thank for the help so far, I was able to install the Revit program, but I am now experiencing the same issue I initially was having with the program which is why I uninstalled it in teh first place. When I attempt to save the project I get a sharing violation (image below). Any how I can change this?

This points to anti-virus, anti-spyware, or anti-malware applications are blocking this.
