Infrastructure Part Shape Utilities plug-in for Autodesk Inventor

Hi,

  • According to this link, using the Infrastructure Part Shape Utilities plug-in for Autodesk Inventor 2017 Pro or LT can be create and configure .IPT parametric model files for use in InfraWorks bridge design.

  • I did exactly the same as above, but there is not "Infrastructure Part Shape Utilities plug-in".

  • I use Inventor 2018 and InfraWorks 2018 student version. Should I use Inventor 2017? Is it only for Inventor 2017?

Thank you in advance,

Ali

Hello every one,

Though this thread is marked as 'Solved', it is not solved for me - unfortunately.

I have installed Inventor Professional 2018.1 (build 171) and InfraWorks 2018.1 (version 18.1.36.0). However, the 'Infrastructure Part Shape Utilities' is not showing up in the Environments tab - despite un- and reinstalling InfraWorks. It did show up in Inventor 2017, but since it is 'integrated in InfraWorks 2018.1, I cannot seem to get it working in Inventor 2018.1.

Does anyone know how to fix this? I am running out of options, so any help would be great!

Regards,

Peter de Vries

Hi Peter,

In Programs and Features do you see either of these listed?:

  • Autodesk Inventor Infrastructure Modeler Plugin
  • Project Kameleon

If you do, please uninstall them and then the following folders, if they exist:

C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Project Kameleon

C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\Kameleon   (back this folder up first if you have anything custom in it)

Do you have any of these files on your computer?:

  • InfrastructurePartModeler.dll
  • Autodesk.InfrastructurePartModeler.Inventor.addin

Thanks,

Hi Charlie,

Thank you so much for your reply!

Indeed, I had the Autodesk Inventor Infrastructure Modeler Plugin installed. So I did exactly as you wrote:

- uninstall the Autodesk Inventor Infrastructure Modeler Plugin

- delete C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\Kameleon

- delete C:\Users\Public\Documents\Autodesk\Kameleon

- delete C:\Users\<username>\Documents\Autodesk\Kameleon

I started Inventor, but unfortunately no 'Infrastructure Part Shape Utilities'...

But when I searched my computer, there was no 'InfrastructurePartModeler.dll' or 'Autodesk.InfrastructurePartModeler.Inventor.addin' available.

So I ran 'ShapeModeler.msi' from 'C:\Autodesk\Autodesk_InfraWorks_2018_1_Multilingual_Win_64bit_DLM\x64\ShapeModeler' and was very anxious if this would do the trick .........

YES, finally !

You made me happy 🙂 Thank you once more, Charlie.

Kind regards,

Peter

Hi guys,
I have the same problem. I've uninstalled all of my Autodesk softwares and files, installed Inventor 2017 and then Infraworks 2019 and it didn't work!
I think Infraworks 2018 is no longer available, I could'nt find.
I thinking format my computer to try one more way to do it. I've been spending many days on that.

Have anyone tried to make this work with Infraworks 2019? Thanks.

Hi everyone, I got it. I uninstalled all Infraworks versions and Inventor, then I installed first Inventor 2017 and then Infraworks 2019. On that way the part shape utilities has showed up.

Thanks for the reply. These are the steps i took prior to replying to your message:

1) Uninstalled Autodesk Infraworks

2) Reinstalled Autodesk Inventor LT 2019

3) Restarted computer

4) Installed Autodesk Infraworks

5) Restarted computer

6) Opened Inventor to see if the plug-in was installed. It is not.

Any suggestions?

This is the version of Inventor i have: Inventor LT 2019; 64-Bit; Build 136

This is the version of Infraworks i have: Infraworks 2019 version 19.0.84.0

I have not done any updates via Autodesk Desktop App as of yet.

This is an old post originally based on 2017 and 2018 behavior.  For 2019 and 2020 the process is a little different. The add ons are not automatically installed anymore, but should now show up in the Autodesk Desktop App as available updates after installing InfraWorks or Civil 3D, and Inventor for the plugin. If you don't see them there, then go to manage.autodesk.com to download them (or check with your company's IT/CAD manager - or whomever has access to your Autodesk account).
