Better Quality Models

Hello everyone,

I want to use infraworks for a media project. So I need to do closeup renderings from Berlin for high res use.

The OSM Source is a fine thing, but not good enough. I tried to import citygml from the Stadtsenat, but others tried the same here in the forum and failed like me. So do you know some Tips how or where I can get better quality files?

Thank you and best regards

Tunkali

What types of data are we talking about? i.e. which features? Finding data is very dependent on your location, the type of feature (i.e. buildings v. roads v. terrain v. aerial imagery v. point clouds, etc.), and whether you are able to purchase data, or you want to find publicly-available data.

Thanks,

Building Data is required. So through OSM I only get low quality LOD2. I could also invest a little bit money if required. So I am looking for good data sources that i can import in Infraworks.

Thanks,

Hi Tunkali, check out Cybercity3D buildings. I'm not sure if they already have buildings in your area but you can always ask for a quote. These buildings have a high quality and accuracy.

Another possibility might be 3D Warehouse. The models are SKPs which can be imported.

John and Matt's suggestions are good ones. Unfortunateley, I don't have any other ideas for Berlin data at the moment, although you may want to give the OSM CityGML data another try. It looks like that portal for Berlin LOD2 data allows for other formats than CityGML, which may make things easier.

Ok, thank you. So there is no good source for overall buildings. So it seems I have to collect from local dealers and services. Maybe there is more in future :). Or develope an offline importer for citygml! 🙂
