The first HSMWorks 2018 R2 development release is now available. We expect to make the final release within a few weeks. Let us know if you encounter any issues.
We have finally added support for Wrap / aka Axis Substitution for 2D Contour and 2D Pocket among other things.
Note that you can access the development releases from here (click the Development Release tab):

Scott, as far as the issues with the selection controls in Inventor, these actually are very tricky. There's some "fancy logic" going on there, trying to be smart about what happens. With the heights, in particular, we were playing a bit of "whack-a-mole" in this area, so have backed off. I looked at this myself recently. We made a couple of tweaks, but want to avoid breaking one thing to fix another. Apologies for not quite being able to get this right. This needs a bit of an overhaul, but doesn't rate above the other important things we're doing.
@jeff.pek Ok. The auto focussing of the selection buttons works in the other tabs, so I incorrectly assumed it would be on easyish to fix. I think you're underestimating it's impact though. It's fine for us because we know about it and are experienced enough to deal with it. But watching new users trying to deal with it isn't good. I feel for them. Especially older machinists who aren't as computer literate. It introduces inconsistency which confuses them... especially when the light blue background showing its active is really hard to see. And the visual cue in HSM that anything is even selected is minimal.
I'm glad to hear that the consensus is that needs an overhaul, because it's another weakness of Inventor HSM vs Fusion & HSMWorks. aaaand this is now totally off topic for this thread.

I was hoping yours was the same issue. I guess not?
If not, can you provide a few more details about what you're expecting vs. what you're seeing? I'm not intimately familiar with this area, so it's hard to respond definitively.
You should be able to drop back to the earlier release -- previous versions are provided in the account portal. But, it would also be good to get this tracked down and fixed, if it is indeed a regression.

Hi Scott -
I'm not underestimating its impact. That's why I went in there to see what could be done. It's the topic of a couple of different reports.

You're was intended as a collective You. I know it's tough to prioritise all this... I wouldn't want that job.

Sorry but I think I don´t understand you. I have big problem. Axis substitution doesn´t work in 3D strategies (in HSM 2018) and you can tell me it´s all right we will not fix it?! I hope not.
Try to mill (on lathe) the groove like in the Picture. You get always the same error.
I used beta mode I believe. It worked great with an earlier build.
The latest build seems to misfit the machining boundary.
Our CAD/CAM supplier told me some HSM 2018 R1 work well but I don´t want to try all beta versions. I am looking for a version that´s ok for our programmers because in HSM 2018 are really helpful things or fixed bugs for us. I hope it will be this month.
Hi -
R2 was released in early July, and we have an HSMWorks update about ready to make available, which should fix a couple of issues from R2.
Jeff
@Laurens-3DTechDraw I tested your ticket specifically and your sample file properly calculates again.
Sounds good!
