Toolbar appears blacked out

My toolbar suddenly black out when I opened it. I was able to use the software fine until I reopened it and the toolbar blacked out. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling but the issue is still there.

Here is a screenshot for further detail. I can still click the functions of the toolbar and everything works but the toolbar is blacked out.

I am unsure of the instructions specified in his comment.

  1. Right-click on My Computer/This PC on the Desktop or in the Start Menu and select “Properties”

I am not sure what he means by this.

I was able to figure it out.

It now works and the bar is not blacked out anymore.

Super weird but I guess it works.

Thank you!

I had the same problem and the other solution (involving navigating to "My PC" and messing with properties) did not work for me. What did work was just moving my mouse around under the black bar covering the toolbar and finding the workspace button. If you can manage to find the button and switch workspaces, this fixed the problem for me. Silly, but seems to work consistently. Hopefully this helps someone.

I have the same problem (started when I installed the update), and this isn't working. Is there anything else I can try?

If above solution is not working.

Restart your PC and try to launch fusion 360

If you still see the same issue, then

Please Remove/edit below Environment Variables

  • Variable Name: QT_OPENGL
  • Variable Value: software

And add below Environment Variables.
  • Variable Name: QT_OPENGL
  • Variable Value: angle

Hello,

Item 5. details are impossible to read since resolution is bad. Zooming in doesn't help.

Can you place the field info in the the instructions you listed?

Thanks

I found the correct variable further down in the thread:

Variable Name: QT_OPENGL
Variable Value: angle

All is well now. Thanks.

None of these solutions is working for me.

  • Environment variable QT_OPENGL with value "software"
  • reboot
  • Environment variable QT_OPENGL value "angle"
  • reboot
  • changed workspace multiple times
  • under system properties - performance options - visual effects, selected "Adjust for best performance"
  • update graphics driver (Intel HD Graphics 620 to driver version 27.20.100.8681)

Any suggestions?
