how to identify thread size on a part ???

how do you measure the thread in the attached file.  eg diameter and tpi.

Thanks for posting! There is not a great way to measure threads in a CAD file in Fusion 360, but the threads in your file can be identified by right-clicking the "Thread3" feature in the browser:

many thanks.........that will work. its a shame that they dont have properties like in inventor ( in drawing mode they can be dimensioned......)

This is true, but you have to check box "Modeled" to apply thread on the item. Without that option the thread will not be created.

Even if you do not check "modeled" when you create a thread, it is created in the database of the model.  If you made a 2D drawing and added a thread note to the thread, modeled or not, it would call it out.  Modeled threads are only needed when you need a physical thread for 3D printing or something like that.  They should not be modeled normally due to the high overhead processing required to create them in the model.  The thread is represented by an image if it is not modeled to indicate a thread is present and that all that is needed normally.
