Sketch dimension tool behaving erratically!

Hi!

I have a strange bug.
I teach Fusion and during class tonight I got this bug for the first time. My students experienced it as well.
When I got home on a different computer I got the same bug!

I made a short video (Screencast) showing what it does. It can easily be replicated.
Are other people having this problem as well? Can you also replicate it?

I use a Mac OS version: 10.11.6 but I dont think it is OS related since I had the same problem in class on a PC.

I have the same problem on Win7 64bit. The funny thing is, that this problem only occurs if you select more then one reference. So clicking on d1 works; clicking on d3 works; clicking on d1 + d3 doesn't work.

Bug was submitted.

I received a confirmation that it was forwarded to development team.

A temporary workaround was suggested using user parameter (View screencast below).

Thanks for your reply!

Thanks for posting this here. I linked your thread here, too.

It’s not a bug but rather a limitation resulting from the implementation not being fully thought through. It’s been reported a long, long time ago and unfortunately still has not been corrected.

@TrippyLighting This is strange! I could swear doing this before with no issue !?

I must have been expecting it so much to work that it felt like it did!

I strongly feel like it should be fixed or fully implemented.

Nope 😉

I feel about it as strongly as you do!

Thanks for reporting this (again).  The more people complain about this, the more likely it will be that we can push to get it fixed.  I am adding this thread to the bug, and again making a plea to get this fixed ASAP.

I apologize that it has not been fixed previously.

Jeff
