Hello, with the May 15th, 2026 update for autodesk fusion 360, the custom properties I had created for my components were lost, and on top of that, they are now locked as read-only, so I cannot update or edit them anymore.

This is a huge problem because I have hundreds of files with thousands of properties that I can no longer access or even attempt to fill in again.

I have tried every solution suggested by the assistant included in the software, and none of them worked (trying to change the properties from the Autodesk Web Hub, switching the design to the new hybrid type, changing the part number of the main component, checking that no component is derived or linked). Nothing works, and I cannot find a way to fix this.

I am in crisis mode.

Is there an easy way to identify shared part numbers related to multiple parts? I have many hundreds of parts I don't know the scope of how many are affected.

Also, I have parts where the properties are not updating, which don't appear to have a part number in the properties to be able to split from the primary part, attached example.

Again, as a single license user, I have no need for collaborative editing. Why is this being forced out in this state and why can't we disable it if it's not required?

a simpler , not CLOUD BOM would be preferable. its very stressful when I have deadlines and Fusion doesnt work....

@emily.caulfield As @dgWZJCW mentioned, this fix doesn't actually help. While it's great your team is figuring out the cause of the issues, if the part belongs to a group but we have no way of knowing what group, it doesn't do us any good.

Eagerly awaiting the ability to view grouped part numbers and hopefully get some of this fixed. I don't know if I speak for everyone in this thread but it's been obvious that the problems are caused by the migration to the new system from the start, and the lack of updates and communication on this has felt like a serious middle finger from Autodesk.

@Stephen_Michaud I feel like a Beta tester and it also cost me so much time having to edit the properties of each component. suddendly components were shown with their old part name and some random part number. without communicating any of the underlying issues I agree it feels like a middle finger from Autodesk

Yes, from any part you can show all components in the part number group. See this page. We are also working on expanding the separator to give you the full list of SPNs in your hub.

As for other parts where the properties can't seem to be edited, please submit a support ticket for that as it appears to be a separate issue.

Hi, Is there a fix for this now? I have over 1700 parts and they all appear to have lost their descriptions which are needed on the BOM causing a huge problem for our workflow.

where is the fix @emily.caulfield ? I have a component that apperantly is a SPN. but it would not let me isolate it or change the name. I get only garbage when I try to generate a BOM with wrong part names/numbers. also when I try to find out where the other component is it just tells me I don't have access. COOL , but it does not tell me which project folder so I can request that access...nihil. How do I find out when there is just no INFO?

What really makes me hate this new workflow is that it, fundamentally, ruins old projects properties. Autodesk should make sure that the users won't be affected before releasing another banger like this.

I agree, there was zero communication and they changed from what worked to something very unpredicatable . Now I have to check every item one by one in my bom export and drawing!

On top of that, this live updating of properties straight to and from the cloud is extremely inconsistent and suffers from poor performance. Even inserted or linked components are subject to property changes and updates, turning what used to be the most reliable workflow into yet another lagging and unpredictable experience.

I also get error messages, saying I don't have the admin rights (which I have) turns out the length of the part number is too long for the system! so even the error codes are wrong......

and some edits in the properties took an hour to get updated. saying this is BAD is an understatement!!!

Still no fix, no. I've submitted a ticket per @emily.caulfield which Autodesk has ignored for a solid week as a surprise to no one. Fusion has been borderline in the past but the complete lack of basic support for something as simple even BOM functionality means it's time to switch to something else.

Another small thing that REALLY grinds my gears is as show in my attached picture below. Why rename all my part numbers like that, with an enormous random sequence? Then I have to rename all the part numbers again, which is cumbersome and the cloud properties delay only make things worse. God, I hate Fusion 2026 SO MUCH, new projects are all either in Inventor or FreeCAD, still stuck with this jank in older projects tho. All these "improvements" and lack of listening to the users really changed my perspective in a matter of 8 eight months

I agree, they are vibe coding it or I don't know. Why change features that were robust and worked, then changing everything under the hood, without any notification and turn my Assemblies into a mess, where I have to now triple check that it doesn't have any wrong or old part names. TF

Update everybody. Autodesk is still completely ignoring my tickets. They seem to be aware of the issue and don't consider responding to their paying customers worth their time, but the tool @emily.caulfield mentioned before finally seems to be complete. Shared parts number can now be batch located. 

And of course, it still fails to solve the actual issue.

The part number is still unreadable. We're lucky enough we could find the part number in our main parts database and attempt to separate it using this new tool.

Part 1658 showed it belongs to 8 different groups. We ran the separator tool on 1658 as well as "Bearing Base" just to be sure, and the part continues to show as read-only and un-editable. Back to waiting to see if Autodesk cares about their consumers enough to fix this.

I'm replying to and older post but it is relevant. I'm also seeing this in the cloud/browser for my model and for the life of me, I can't figure out how to get out of this SPN situation.

This is still a problem. I've reopened the ticket and had some helpful calls with actual people at Autodesk but like usual they just assure me they're "working on it 👍" .
