How to protect a project or specific parts?

I'm currently building up different projects for our team.

One of the projects is for Common Parts so the parts in there should stay the same.

Due to that I want to lock/protect a file to prevent accidental modifications.

The same I want to do with some components which are freezed in the design process.

How can I do that? It was mentioned in some post that this has been implemented, but it was not mentioned how.

As far as i'm aware this is not possible. The post you were referencing is quite a bit older and from what i can tell its about locking or freezing the objects inside the model.

So is there a way otherwhise to make it possible to protect it from accidental changes?
