Help Needed: Rotation Animation

Hi,

I am 100% new to animation in Fusion 360. I have searched every video on youtube about this, and am following what is said but cannot for the life of me get this object to rotate about its center. Can someone pelase help?

1. I drew the object in Design as a body, then converted the body to a component

2. I did not Render or save the object as an STL file/other type of file

3. I immediately went to the Animation module

4. I set the time to 5 seconds

5. I selected the component, clicked transform component, and selected the center as the picot point...I am getting zero rotation (even as I toggle the angle, the object doesn't move)

I am probably making a rookie mistake, has anyone had this issue before?

Take a look at the Screen cast for the process to add a rotational motion to an animation.  By the way, next time you post a forum question, concerning a model, attach the model.  You will get a more relevant answer, usually quicker and it save the forum user from construction of a model to demo on.  Model is attached.

I've got a similar question to the earlier one.  I've looked at the solution provided by @jhackney1972 , but can't seem to make it work for me.

In the model attached (Rail Hinge 2 v10.f3d), component Platform pivots on component Hinge Support.  I want to animate the joint to check operating clearances.

I go to the Animation workspace, create a Timeline, choose the Home view and tehn move the playhead to 10 seconds. Then select component Platform, and Transform Component.  I can set the pivot point to the end of the hinge axis, but cannot make the part rotate.

What am I not doing, or doing wrong?

Thanks

Geoff

You, like many before you, select the Set Pivot icon, pick your pivot point but FORGET to go back and pick the Set Pivot icon again to say you are Done with setting your pivot point.  It is a toggle switch.
