Fusion login not launching browser.

Gidday all!

I have recently run into an error with Fusion 360,

The splash screen shows the login button, and when clicked this used to open the default browser and take me to an Autodesk login page, I would be able to login and then head to the desktop version and get started.

Now, unfortunately, it doesn't seem to launch the browser. So far I have tried:

  1. Following the steps here notably, the Fusion Service Utility will not launch, and I am unable to locate debugger keys in the REGEDIT address provided.
  2. Uninstalling, restarting and reinstalling Fusion.
  3. Installing the Desktop Connector, the Desktop Connector crashes on startup also.
  4. Signing in online (this works fine, however does not allow me to access Fusion 360)

Any further tips and tricks would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you,

I can see that the folder only had read permissions, not write,

I have tried to change this, unfortunately, I get this message:

Any further tips would be appreciated!

@ROGsolutions2022 One quick test. Can you Close Fusion if it is running in the background, restart your machine and then launch again? Also, after this change if you right click and run as admin what happens?

Thank you mate!

It seems to have updated the settings:

ROGsolutions2022_0-1745477373984.png

All seems OK there, I note that other users are different, but I cannot change that, and do not need to change that..

Of note, the desktop connector application is still crashing on startup, this may be related? Where can I find the desktop connector app log file?

Any further steps from here would be appreciated!

Thank you!

Ok!

Thank you very much for your patience with this, it turns out I didn't pay enough attention to this post, and the other users post, @Colenathan1991's method of clicking through all the warnings etc that appear has solved the problem!

Hopefully this will be able to serve as a reference to anyone else who has the same issues!

Thank you all again,

Rog

Interesting! And the steps don't work for you? Checking/changing the folder permissions?

I haven't had any trouble as of yesterday. I'll try again today and see!

I have the identical problem that has been described above in this thread.  This did not work either.

This did not change anything.  Still stuck on sign in page that does not work. "Check your web browser to sign in" but no web browser automatically opens.  If I open any browser, no change. I can log in to autodesk.com, but no change in desktop app function.  For what it's worth, window does not show "(Not Responding).  Task Manager shows CPU usage ~12-14%, ~800 MB RAM usage, 0% network activity.  Also interesting is that I have set Google Chrome as my default browser just to troubleshoot this problem, and I see no indication that Chrome is running in the task manager.

I navigated to Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options... but there are no debugger blocked keys

I read through the thread.  Curiously, when I look in the Reg Edit, there are not any keys that look like they are even remotely related to Autodesk or Fusion.  This is after multiple attempts to clean uninstall and reinstall the Fusion software.

Does Fusion generate any kind of log during each sign in?  I noticed somewhere that a Service Utility is supposed to start after 2 failed log in attempts, but this does not seem to be true either.  In fact, the CTRL-SHIFT-double click only works occasionally. I have attached the .zip files.  Maybe this will help.

The only other thing that I can add with my limited knowledge is that the Network Diagnostic Test gives an error for https://clientstream.launchdarkly.com

@sjjeong2 Thanks for the logs. Our engineering team is taking a look and for a start is suggesting the below:

  1. Go to task manager and close any  Autodesk application and Autodesk Identity Manager process
  2. Go to C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\IDSDK and if it has any folders, delete them
  3. Make sure C:\ProgramData\Autodesk has read/write access
  4. Restart your machine
  5. Now launch Fusion and try to sign in
