Data Panel showing Black window

Hi,

I'm new to Fusion 360. I have problem with data panel. It shows black window there (see attached snapshot). However, first time I used it, it worked fine. But somehow it quits working. I tried rebooting my computer and reinstall Fusion. Neither helps.

Thank you very much!

Hello once again.

Update on the black screen problem.

Turns out, the black data panel screen occurs when adcefwebbrowser.exe is set to 'High performance' GPU setting (see picture). In my case this is in Catalyst Control Center. Other general settings don't seem to matter, unless it has been told to use 'based on power plan' setting, which probably takes the info from the power plan settings, and if those are set to 'max performance' it will run into troubles. Otherwise, if power plan is set to 'max performance', yet adcefwebbrowser.exe is in 'Power saver' profile, it will work fine.

So the problem happens in any instance when the above mentioned .exe is launched in max performance profile.

Side note. In graphics diagnostics, it never shows that Fusion360 is using advanced graphics. Only integrated one. Even when Fusion360.exe is opened with high performance profile and max power plan. No idea if it is actually using it or not.

Hello harri.k,

thank you for the excellent diagnostics.

We are aware of the problem, but currently there is no clear solution for it.

Parts of the Fusion uses parts of User Interface rendered as web pages.

The Side panel, the Comments dialog, the Branching and Merging panels and some more.

These UI are affected by the black screen issue, which is occurring on hardware/driver combination involving the AMD/Intel Switchable graphic.

The power settings affects the graphic used to render this 2D interface and sometime it produces the black screen.

On the other hand the scene (the modelling screen) is rendered differently - this is where the 3D acceleration reported by the diagnostics is used.

Just to make the information more complete, the Autodesk Fusion is not the only application affected by the "Switchable graphics black screen" issue,

I apologize, but currently I don't know clear solution for the black screen problem.

After more than a year and numerous updates of both Fusion 360 and my ATI video drivers as well as help from the tech support team here a simple solution to the blacked out Data Panel. Thank You, thank you, thank you! Setting adcefwebbrowser.exe and Fusion 360 to Power Saving instead of Performance solved the problem!

Not the first time I have found a cause- "solution" to something "experts" have been looking for years. 😕

Where can I collect my check? 😄

You deserve more than Kudos for this one that's for sure. I've also reported this successful fix to the Fusion team in the hopes they will post this where more people will find it. Thanks again for sniffing out the cause of this seemingly unknowable and inscrutable glitch that has kept me from using F-360 since my computer upgrade. Which BTW was done almost solely for using F-360 with the larger files I was generating with my terrain meshes.
