Can't get sharing function to work

I need to share a design using the public link feature, which has always worked well for me in the past. But now, when I copy and send the URL

1) If I click on the link, I go to a page with the message : Unauthorized, Sorry, you don’t have permission to access this page.

2) If I paste the URL directly into the browser (having tried Safari and Chrome) I get an endless loading graphic and the correct title, but nothing appears.

If I open details in A360, I can view other information and renderings, but I get a blank when it comes to the Preview part.

It’s the same after this morning’s update.

Bob,

I sent you an invite to join the project (which is private for our customer), and an email with the link that isn't working. The files I am having trouble sharing are called AL wrist Concept V2 and AL Wrist Concept V2 simplified.

Ron,

I have been able to replicate this at my end.

I have sent this to our development staff for them to take a look at.

I will send you an update when I get more information.

Thank you.

Hello Oceanconcepts, & Bob,

Is it that the link does not produce the view or you cannot download/export the file?

What I see with the link that Bob gave me is that the viewer failed to come up (no view), but I could still download/export the item.

In such cases, the viewing engine has failed to create the viewables at the backend, but your item is intact. You could try editing the part and see if the new version generates the viewable by using "Open in A360" command....if you can see the view, then your prior link will now point to this tip which can be viewed, because it is using the backend viewable that got generated when you created a new version of the item.

Let me know....if editing generates a view for you. In the meanwhile, I will take the link...download the part and see as to why we cannot generate the view at our backend.

It’s that the link (or opening in A360 from Fusion) does not generate a viewable. It does show version history and renderings just fine. And I can download the file. It’s the show and tell that’s missing- which makes collaboration and commenting difficult. When I put the URL in an email and click it, I get an access denied page, but if I paste it into a browser I get the correct page, just no viewable.

I have tried saving different versions of the design, including completely copying it, with the same results. opening in A360 from Fusion is the same. When I have saved individual components, they open in A360 as expected. It’s only the whole assembly that is a problem.

Ron,

Can you invite me to the project and point me the item please? I am at smoghe at autodesk dot com

If you can see this item version (tip) in the A360 browser but not via the sharing link...then surely there is an issue lingering behind it.

Send me a link that fails to be viewed privately too 🙂

Thanks!

Hi Shrirang,

I can send a link. This is a proprietary design, so please keep it private within Autodesk, just for help in debugging the issue.

I can't see the design preview in A360 or via the sharing link, though I can view the renderings and timeline on A360. Clicking the link from an email I sent gives me a "restricted Access" page.

Pasting the same link into a browser takes me to a sharing page, but no design image ever loads. It is, however, possible to download file versions from that page.

Hope this clarifies the issue.
