Appearances and Physical material command not working

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hello,

After last update, in my computer, 'appearance' and 'physical material' commands are not working.

I tried re-installing Fusion360. The problem still persists.

Whenever I run either of the commands. Fusion stops responding.

I waited for 1+ hour once for it to respond. It did not respond. I had to force close it.

So...

I've to force close fusion 360 every time I accidentally try to run commands 'physical material' and/or 'appearance' command. because fusion stops responding after starting those commands.

Yeah zip file. I just added it here if anyone can look at it and find what exactly is the problem. You can generate it for your software from 'help' dropdown from Fusion360.

Except these 2 commands (appearance and physical mistrial) evening else is also working for you?

Can't at all change material and appearances of design.

I updated software. The issue is still not fixed for me.

I'm not able to open appearance and physical material command at all. And if I accidentally try to open it, I've to force close fusion 360 and restart it.

For anyone that are still crashing using Appearance, we have reproduced this issue and are actively working to find root cause and come up with a fix.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and will provide an update as soon as we have a fix.

Can anyone still crashing please check your system locale and tell us what it is set to? Also can you change this locale to another setting and then restart the machine, launch Fusion 360 and tell us if you experience the crash?

We greatly appreciate your time and patience and help while we figure this one out.

View the System Locale settings for Windows
  1. Click Start, then Control Panel
  2. Click Clock, Language and Region
  3. Windows 10, Windows 8: Click Region
Windows 7: Click Region and Language
Windows XP: Click Regional and Language Options
The Region and Language options dialog appears.
  4. Click the Administrative tab
On Windows XP, click the Advanced tab
If there is no Advanced tab, then you are not logged in with administrative privileges.
  5. Under the Language for non-Unicode programs section, click Change system locale and select the desired language.
  6. Click OK
  7. Restart the computer to apply the change.

Hi all,

We have found a workaround and I have posted it in the below link:

https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/fusion-360-support/attn-workaround-for-appearance-hang-crash-found/td...

Can you guys let me know if this works when you try this? Please note that for Windows 7 you need to change the system locale and the Format (see my two screenshots in the post).

Fusion should notify you when an update is available. See the below screenshot for more information. To update, select the Restart Fusion 360 link.

If you're running Fusion via a lab installation, the network administrator will need to update the software. See the below link for more information.

If you're not seeing this, you can upload the Help > Diagnostic log files from your computer and I will be happy to take a look. Usually the fastest solution is to use the Fusion Cleaner tool to remove the existing installation and re-installing. I hope this helps!

Thanks,
