Operation Cycle Time Quantity Breaks

Operation Cycle Time Quantity Breaks

It would be great if we could add cycle time quantity breaks to operations.  Currently, there can only be one active cycle time per operation.  For example:

Quantity: 1           Cycle Time/unit: 10 min

Quantity: 2-9       Cycle Time/unit: 8 min

Quantity: 10+      Cycle Time/unit: 7 min

This would create more accurate production time estimates, which benefits both work scheduling and post production analytics.

Hello @mmesser, thank you for your suggestion and I understand the problem it'd solve.

On a side note, I believe Fusion Operations would have to have a "default" cycle time to provide an estimation in scenarios in which there is no quantity context. For example, when providing the theoretical cost per unit on the batch cost update module, the system would have to assume one of the values to estimate the operations duration (that multiplied by the workers cost would return the estimated production cost). Let me know your thoughts - in the mean time I've marked it as Gathering Support.

Hi @andrade_david, thanks for the response.  In that case, could the default quantity be calculated by the selection of either average or maximum in the cost box?  Otherwise, the Batch Time Update module has a quantity ratio column, perhaps the same could be added to the Batch Cost Update module.

We would need a closer analysis when digging deeper into the feedback you and other customers have when prioritizing this improvement. Asking for the minimum, maximum or a specific quantity to be assumed are valid solutions, yes.
