Stability Issues...

Anyone else having serious stability issues? Prior to a few weeks ago, I could count on one hand the number of Fusion crashes I've experienced, and those I could always point to something stupid I was doing that lead to it. Now, I seem to be crashing at the least little thing. Go to Model, change a small feature, go back to CAM and click on the Setup. Freeze and Crash.

Open up an Operation, zoom in to select the proper chain. Crash.

Select a bunch of operations and CTRL+G. Crash.

Please tell me I'm not alone in this. You guys all know I love the software, so this isn't a rant, just more a plea out of desperation......

I totally agree with you, however I would love to see a feature that traces an image for you so that you can just toolpath it, a feature that Vectric Aspire and Vcarve Pro have.

File > New File From Design > Search to where the .f3d is stored. Double click on the file.

I'd like to keep this thread focused more on Stability issues and less on miscellaneous functionality in Fusion, if you don't mind. By all means, feel free to start a thread that focuses on what you are trying to accomplish @justo_urbina12

After 3 updates, I'm still getting crashes when I am editing CAM operations. If I slow down, it helps. Has this been logged or is there not enough information on the issue yet?

Did you send the CER when the crash happened? Or is it steady steps to reproduce the issue you have?

I have sent in about 20 crash reports on this issue. A few of them were very detailed. But I have not found a definite sequence to recreate the crash. It happens when I go through the CAM operations quickly to make edits and verify some aspect of them.  Clicking on the model, then the operations, then right click to edit. I'll try to get it to figure it out.

@LibertyMachine Has had this problem too. I don't know if it is still as issue for him or not. Thanks!

The problem still persists for me. I've found the best way to prevent them from happening is to SLOOOOOOOWWWWWW DOWN. No rapid clicking between processing toolpaths, leave the 3D mouse alone, deliberate clicking on everything, plus a little bit of luck.

Negative. One 24" asus monitor. I'd like to get a second one, but the desktop space isn't there at the moment. Once I find a new spot for the drill cabinet, I might add a second.

i7 4790k  4.00 ghz

Z97 motherboard

16gb (or 32, i forget) ram

2gb nvidia graphics

Win 10 (moment of stupidity)

Peripherals:

Monitor speakers, Logitech wireless mouse and keyboard, basic 3dconnexion mouse (wired)

Wi-Fi on the lower end of the signal, running through a booster. I keep on procrastinating on running a hard line. I know, with all the free time I have I shouldn't have an excuse /rollseyes

Understood, life is not easy. I feel frustrated as well when I see the complaints about the software.

Check the CERs from you and gearsoup, this issue is tracked with FUS-26603. Thanks for reporting this.

The issue relates with timer, which could explain why it works when you slow down.

Well, crashed 4 times yesterday. So, no, this problem hasn't gone away. It seems to be related to moving the Spacemouse and regular mouse at the same time. More specifically, the regular mouse over the design/CAM tree

In other news, I opened up an old file I made back in August and I was dismayed to see that all the operations were red, the stock was incorrect and my first 2 operations were on an old revision. I know for a fact that it was correct when I was finished with the job. I had a DMG Mori service guy at the shop yesterday and we were working on smoothing out the machine for adaptive cuts. I went to that file because I noticed the most issues on that part (machine issue, not Fusion). Old rev was 3 parts out of the material. That didn't work well for tooling, so I changed it to 2 parts (back in August). Opened it up yesterday and it was 3 parts.....

Yeah I crashed numerous times yesterday as well. The SpaceMouse does seem to be a factor, but not always. Some of the crashes occurred when I was not touching the SpaceMouse. One time I crashed almost immediately after having reloaded my design. 

On the positive side, the most recent update did fix a lot of problems related to design changes not being properly transferred to CAM. 

I really don't understand how software with this degree of instability gets released in the first place

Although I haven't experienced many stability issues (not using Fusion day in and day out like many here), I have heard from at least one person about them who is not active on the forums, especially dealing with moderate assembly size. This is a pretty big issue.
