Problems programming tool path for an elliptical pocket

Hello!  I made a pocket using the ellipse tool and then an extrude/cut.  When I try to program a 2d pocket, it selects the ellipse, but just shows the path as a straight line across the top.  When I run the simulation, I get nothing.  I've tried several different selection options and none seem to work.  What am I missing?

Thanks!

It looks to me that you've not setup your part correctly in Fusion Manufacture. When creating a Setup, it defaults to "Model Orientation", which adopts the alignment of what you have in Design. Now, parts aren't always oriented correctly or the same, so we have options to "Define Z and X axis" to account for that.

You need to select a surface that's aligned with the Z axis and then an edge (or sketch) that is aligned with the X axis.
