Trace: Random plunging moves

This is the contour I selected:

The toolpath is fine on one side and does exactly what it should on both sides, but right here the tool on just the right side randomly plunges down here:

I will add; the Trace toolpath is not really the best choice for what you're doing, it will likely always overcut at some point, as it's not model aware. You could work around this by sketching out the correct path for it to follow, but no guarantees..

It also makes these little non lead in lead ins and I don't believe it should:

Yeah I usually need to drive these off sketches when I do this. What toolpath would you recommend instead?

As a temporary workaround, you could limit the Max angle to 89.999 degrees, you'll get this:
