Post Processor and Machine Simulation What’s New
Looking for the latest post processors and machines updates? Look no further!
We are continually working hard to bring you updates and improvements to the many open-source Post Processors and Machines we offer for free, but those updates often get lost in the shuffle of other enhancements or big feature releases. This post aims to update you on newly added or improved post processors and machines, so you can stay up to date on what you use today or look for news so you can get the most out of Fusion.
This post will get refreshed with notable updates as they’re released, and you can click each hyperlink to go to the mentioned post. As always, you can find the latest in our post processor offering on the Online Post Library where you can search by vendor, type, or name, and see any recent changes to each post processor.

1. New Post Processors
Mill-Turn Post Processors
Added post processor for brother speedio M series multi-tasking.
Intermediate Post Processors
Added a new post processor for Cimco tool scanning.
This postprocessor can be used as a cascading postprocessor to automatically generate stock, fixture and model files as well as tool data files for the CIMCO Backplot. CIMCO Scanning will pick up this data and use it for Backplot simulation.

2. Improved Post Processors
We are always working to keep post processors up to date with new technologies. This is a summary of the main improvements made to post processors already in the library.
Generic Post Processors
-Added error when postprocessing multi axis toolpaths without a machine configuration and without TWP commands.
-Added cancelWCSRotation function which will be called when setting cancelRotationOnRetracting is enabled.
-Fixed 'reference to undefined property' warning message in multiple postprocessors.
-Improved error messages for program numbers being out of range
-All post processors are now using the kernel version for detecting probing and inspect surface operations.
Milling Post Processors
Updated the brother speedio post processor to support various machine models like S, W, R, U, F and H series machines.
Removed duplicated onRadiusCompensation function.
Haas, Haas EC, Haas Desktop Mill, Haas UMC-750, Haas Next Generation, Haas Inspect Surface, Haas Next Generation Inspect Surface
-Updated Haas posts to use shared content across post processors.
-Standardized usage of TWP/TCP command output for prepositioning with TWP
-Modified the list of permitted comment characters in Haas post processors
Siemens 828D, Siemens Sinumerik ONE, Siemens 840d, Siemens 840d Inspection
Updated siemens posts to use shared content across post processors.
Mill-Turn Post Processors
Fixed an issue where the Haas ST-10 post processor failed with an undefined variable.
Additive Post Processors
Changing the high feedrate management in the additive post processors.
Setup Sheet Post Processors
Operation Sheet, Setup Sheet, Setup Sheet Excel, Setup Sheet Excel 2007, Tool Sheet, Tool Sheet CSV
Fixed missing tools in the setup sheets when tool number are same with different length offsets.
3. New Machines
Machine Library
The Machine Library lets you manage your machine tools by using Machine Configurations to define your available machines and resources. These configurations can automate the settings in your Job Setup.
There are many Machine Configurations available in the standard library.
You will have available configuration files for some of the leading machine manufacturers:
The easiest way to get started, is to copy an existing configuration that matches some of the characteristics of your machine.
4. Improved Machines
5. Improved Workholdings
The Workholding library lets you add a workholding equipment (vise, table, tombstone, etc.) to a manufacturing model. Those can be found in the "CAM Samples" project folder that you can find in the Fusion data panel:
Maintenance of some Renishaw files
6. Tools and Tool Holders
The Tool Library lets you manage tools for Milling, Turning, Cutting (waterjet, laser & plasma), Touch Probes and Holders. The Tool Library lets you manage libraries of predefined tools and project documents.
OSG is a leading manufacturer of taps, end mills, drills, and thread-making tools. We offer an extensive line of high technology cutting tools featuring exclusive metallurgy, cutting geometries, and proprietary surface treatments to help increase productivity, reliability, and tool life. Through continuous innovations, OSG strives to provide customers with superior cutting tool technology, experience, and quality that matters. Currently, our library cover A-Brand square endmills.
7. Post Processor Engine
Our development team is always working to update and fix the Autodesk CAM Post Processor engine. These modifications are not related to a specific postprocessor (as described above) but affect the entire library or at least the post processors using that specific class. The current post processor kernel is 5.131.1.
The getPolarPosition function ensures that the returned rotary axis angle is within the limits of the machine and it respects the preference setting for the rotary axis.
You can find here all the information regarding the Autodesk CAM Post Processor engine.
8. Post Processor Ideas
To make our library more varied and complete, we are always working on new post processors. Some of them still need more testing before being released in the public library. Every new Beta post processor is announced in the Idea Station, you can find all of them in the Post Processor Idea Station.
Please note that if you choose to use one of these post processors, you assume all inherent risk in using it and we ask that you proceed with caution.
That being said, we are looking forward to get your feedback!
