In Teamcenter, before submitting to approval, in addition to undo "checkout option" I am able to checkout any files, be it CAD's, Excel, Words, email, zip etc it will automatically open the files with the appropriate application, allow me to edit them and check back in when save (basically a two steps process). During this time, the checkout files are locked so nobody else can edit them and Teamcenter keeps a log and history of the date, time and person name.
In FL, when check out files using Safari and other browsers alike, I have only one option "Undo checkout". The files don't automatically open with the appropriate application even though "Do this automatically for files like this from now on" is checked. I have to manually save them to a known location (1), go to the save location (2), open - edit (3) and save files (4), undo checkout (5), delete the files in Fusion (6), check in the new and revised files (7). This 7 steps process is too cumbersome and time consuming. Can FL implement checkout process similar to Teamcenter in the future or at least minimize the checkout and edit process to two steps?
