Removal of 2D and 3D file not possible

Hello,

I am trying to delete a 2D and 3D pcb file from my pcb's project folder.

I removed the reference to each files in the PCB's main document and saved, so there is definitely no reference to the existing files.

However, if I try to delete them, Fusion tells me that these files are referenced by another designs.

When I have a look in A360.com, these files are also NOT referenced by any other file.

How can I delete them from my project folder?

Addition:

Even Fusion says it's not used or referenced by other designs

this is because of Fusion's versioning model, and the "promote" command.  Fusion saves ALL back versions of every design.  So, say you have designs A and B.  A references B at version 1.  Then, you edit A, and delete that reference to B, and save version 2.  If you look at the "Uses" for A or "Used in" for B do not show this reference (because those UIs show only the current status - version 2 of A).  However, version 1 of A still references B.  Because you can promote version 1 of A to be the current version, this reference can come back.

Thanks @jeff_strater for clarifying that.

So how would I approach this if I wanted to have these files deleted?

In my opinion, this backreference to old version should be included in the error dialogue with a selection if the user really wants to delete the file even if it's referenced in an older version of another file.

Or at least the reference to an old version should be mentioned in the "used in" section of the part to be deleted.

I agree that the error message is misleading in these cases.  Today, there is no great answer, if you really want to delete that design.  Supposedly, in a Team Hub, you can "delete" those designs (which really just moves them into the Trash folder), but I can't even get that to work yet.  The only method I've found is to Export the design as an F3Z, and re-import it - that will create a new design which has no version history, and only references the current versions of all designs.  So, it will not contain a reference to this old design.  Then, you can delete the existing design, including the one you want to delete, if you do it from the top down.
