F360 Electronics extremely slow.

Hello,

Fusion 360 is working well and meets acceptable performance expectations as far as responsiveness except for the electronics portion.
On creating a new electronics design, the software still functions, however, when opening even a fresh schematic, the software lags and hangs, but not frozen, for around 45 seconds to fully load. The load time would seem excessive for a 2d app, although not intolerable if that was the limit. The schematic applet hangs for around 30 seconds with every click like it's reindexing or calling for something and facing a timeout. The software is still partially "responsive" but not immediately during the lag event. At no time does the software "crash", it simply compounds and becomes slower with every attempt to affect a control article. The only way to get it back to a usable state is to select a different type of tab or close the current electrical design tab.
Steps were reactivly taken to correct the issue:

* Ensured all component libraries are updated

* Disabled all component libraries

* Verified system readiness and responsiveness.

* Checked for pending updates and syncs within F360

* Cleared F360 cache from within the help menu
* Reset F360 from the repair menu
* Ran F360 repair install from the repair menu

* Searched Google for issues related to Slowness and Lag in  electronics design mode
* Searched Autodesk forum for preliminary solutions with non-similar slowness problems being commonly reported.

This problem is potentially isolated to a specific issue within this computer-software configuration.

PS: About a month ago, the software suite was completely reinstalled after manual removal due to a catastrophic failure caused by the Fusion 360 update failing to install. Even the repair tool was corrupted and was unable to repair or uninstall successfully.
The application was completely removed, minus most registry entries, and reinstalled after a cache/temp dump.

I did not post a video as it is likely no benefit in watching normal Fusion 360 electronics play out in obscenely slow motion. If you feel it would be beneficial to observe, please note and I will comply.

Remote desktop and diagnostic logs are available to Autodesk on request.

Thank you for your time in reading and any suggestions you may be able to offer.

Hi @Michael

I hope you are doing well!

Do you use a Mac OS or Windows OS?

If you use the Mac OS, please use the default scale setting to have a try to see if it can help.

Hello, Panpan Fan,
Thank you for the rapid reply, and I hope you are doing well as well, thank you.

It is a PC.
Alienware R1 ALPHA with the specifications:

Intel i3-4170T CPU @ 3.20GHz

16.0 GB Installed RAM

Nvidia GeForce GTX 980,  2GB GDDR4

Windows 10 Pro Version 22H2 x64,  build 19045.2846, Pack 120.2212.4190.0

The pc performs as expected with commensurate and acceptable performance in all aspects except with the electronics design schematic app.

Hi @Michael

Thanks for the detailed information.

Would you mind unchecking the Enable GPU rendering in the Preferences dialog?

Then please click OK button and Relaunch Fusion to see if the performance is better.

Thank you very much for the swift and knowledgeable answer.

That solved the issue and it is back to fully functional status.

It was functional with GPU acceleration previously, an update must have rendered the older GPU incompatible.

Thank you and have a blessed day 😌

Hi @Michael

Thanks for your feedback.

It seems that we still have some performance issue with specified graphic card.

Would you mind checking if you are using the latest Fusion 360 V2.0.15995?

Thanks in advance!

Regards,

Panpan Fan
