Replace part question - library functionality

Hello all -- I have a quick question about replacing parts and the library functionality. I have a component with multiple footprints and a single footprint with many variants, each with their own model/package (see first picture). Everything looks good when I edit the library or when I'm placing a new component. However, when I replace a component, all the packages show up many times as if they were all unique components -- best seen in the second picture. It is super confusing when replacing items.

Is this a bug or expected behavior?

Frankly, if this is the expected, I feel like there is a lack of consistency and it should be displayed like all the other screens.

Any suggestions would be great.  Thanks!

Hello @cyberreefguru,

It's not a bug, what you are seeing is that the Place Parts Panel has an updated UI while the replace dialog still has the old EAGLE dialog. At one point for many years both looked like the replace dialog does now. The library code in Electronics makes up a large part of the codebase so the team has taken the approach to gradually improve portions of it over time. The place parts panel got treated first the replace and update dialogs will come at a later date.

I've added your  comments to the existing ticket on this since you're right, that inconsistency is a source of confusion.
