Bad UX when selecting objects on heap

Hi,

I know I've opened few topics about bad UX when selecting objects.

In video, I'm trying to select yellow line above >NAME.

So, first click selects polygon in layer 39(tKeepout), right click to swap selection to object below(tPlace), left click to comfirm selection, right click to open menu and click to properties.

Devs will see where's problem.

This will be contentious but here it goes. The old school EAGLE user in me would tell you that using the right click menu is slow, you are better off following the verb-noun paradigm Electronics is built around where you select the action you want to perform in this case properties, then left click and do the cycle select to select the object you want. The inspector already gives you the properties so you wouldn't even need to right click and select properties.

With that said, if you are learning to use the tool the right click menu is a very intuitive way to explore the commands and should be much easier to access once the selection is done. I'll log this one as part of the selection series you've posted.

Yes, right click is slow. Reason why I use right click(for now) is because - https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/fusion-360-electronics/same-workspace-is-shared-within-lib-editor/m-p...
So I just side that panel and use right click.
Now, my question is - why right click->property and inspector panel does not behave same and why multiple objects are highlighted when right click but only one will be modified? Inspector and right click->property show same info.

Those questions are why I reported this.

The inspector is not the same as properties, it's more like properties+. The big advantage it has is that it can show you the properties of a group, specifically what they have in common. It can also make changes to the selection.

The right click menu always assumes a single object, remember that the "proper" workflow in Electronics like EAGLE is verb-noun. If you select the action you want to perform before you right click on the selection you'll see that at the bottom of the right click menu X:Group. CLicking that will perform the action on the group.

As you may gather this is probably not what you are used to. In EAGLE, once you get up to speed the right click menu is seldom used because you know that you can select the action first and the ctrl+right click to perform the action on the group. Electronics like EAGLE is verb-noun, once you get comfortable with it the workflow is very smooth but it doesn't win any awards for intuition. Like I mentioned I've logged this already, but I hope the above answers give some insight.

Yes, F3E/EAGLE has own, very non-intuitive workflow.
Problem is(with me and I guess with outhers as well) that F3E has very different workflow compared with other similar software so it's really pain in ass when you switch from one to another.
It would be nice to see property and inspector do same thing, with single and multiple objects.
