Why are some sketches not showing up?

So this has always puzzled me, when I am in some sketches, others are visible, and in others they are not. See pictures below for examples but basically in the first sketch I can't see the second, in the second I can see the first.

Hope I don´t misunderstand your question.

 

Isn´t this what can be expected if the timeline is on (as can be seen in your last screenshot)? If you edit the first sketch, the timeline rolls back to the "past" - and when you created the first sketch, the second one was not existing - so you cant´t see it. You can see in the timeline that the "future" is greyed out.

What helped me was remembering the movie "Back to the future" (yes, I´m that old) - being Marty McFly or Doc Brown and travel back and forth in time. Maybe Autodesk should change the drag-timeline symbol to the silhouette of a DeLorean......

Ha Ha, good one!

 

Actually given the decline in  speed of the drag action of the timeline marker a snail would be more on order. IIRC a delorean was pretty fast 😉
