Upload error and continuing problem

Hi,

About 2 weeks ago I had a problem saving a design, and I ended up (rightly or wrongly) saving the design under another file name and deleting the original version.

Now I keep getting the following error message:-

UPLOAD FAILED. ORIGINAL FILE: S, QUEUED FILE 3652d175-19b6-4226-b514-f751152d174f.f3d

It also shows up in the upload progress window as being busy uploading, without actually doing anything.

Clearing the message does nothing, it just shows up again. And I cannot affect what is visible in the upload progress window.

How do I go about clearing this file from the upload scheduler?

Regards,

Brett

Hi @Anonymous,

I am sorry to hear that this happened to you!

Let's try to address this in two steps. The first - what are you doing that generates that error message? Is it just when you open Fusion, try to upload something else, or while trying to open the original (or I guess in this case the copied) file? Also, do you have a working copy of the file, or did it just fail entirely?

You can perform the following steps to clear the upload dialog box, but I would only do this if you have a working version of the model.

  1. Close Fusion 360
  2. Browse to the following directories

Windows:
C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\Autodesk\production\JobManager360\<Most Current Application ID (sort by date if mutlple)>\

Mac:
C:\Users\%USERNAME%\Library\Application Support\Autodesk\production\JobManager360\<Most Current Application ID (sort by date if mutlple)>\

  3. Locate the jobs.json and the jobs.json.lck files.
  4. Delete both the json and the lck file.
  5. Restart Fusion 360 and review the Upload queue.

NOTE:
The folder AppData is a hidden folder so make sure that your computer has hidden folders visible.

Let me know if that worked!

Thanks,

Hi James,

Before I do anything drastic, maybe I should give you some more details.

I suspect that the original problem happened when I closed down my laptop at the end of the working day about 2 weeks ago.

The next day there was an upload error (however I cannot recall the exact details given).

I opened the file, and it seemed to be ok. So I saved it under a different file name. So yes I have a working copy of the file.

I then deleted the original file.

I did not notice anything unusual in the next week.

For the last week I have been getting the message I posted.

I am not aware of doing anything in particular to get the message, it just appears.

If I upload another design/drawing to the fusion 360 data panel it still shows the deleted file with the progress bar in the upload progress window. It looks like the bar is full (I.E. the upload should be complete) but it has not been marked as completed or error or failed in the upload progress window.

Where do I find the upload queue to have a look at it?

Brett

Hi @Anonymous,

Let's hold off on those steps then. Can you send me your diagnostic log files? You can find these in the help menu in Fusion 360 (top-right corner) and email them to me at james.youmatz@autodesk.com. These should give me a better idea as to what is going wrong.

Thanks,

Hi @Anonymous,

Sorry for the delayed response! I just wanted to verify the best workflow here.

I checked out your log files and I can see an error message in there indicating the sync never happened. Since you already have the file in a safe and working condition, I think it is safe to say we can blast away the upload queue.

You can do one of two things here. Try my original method posted (which just clears the queue job manager). I'm not 100% sure how effective that will be as that solution is actually pretty old. Check out this link here for reference to both options. Here is the other option (but definitely check that link out first for more details). NOTE: This next option will wipe out your entire local cache. This includes recovery files and any offline data that is not yet synced to the cloud. Please use caution and back up all your offline/local data if you have not done so already. To do this, go into the Help menu (top-right corner of Fusion) and select Clear Local User Cache. This should eliminate the error message you keep seeing.

Thanks,

Hi James,

I have tried your original suggestion of deleting the "jobs.json" and "jobs.json.lck" files, I will give it a day and see if the problem has been sorted out.

If that does not work, I will try your second suggestion.

Thanks,

Brett

Hi James,

Ok, deleting the two files did not work. I have tried your other suggestion. Going to give it a day as well

Hi @Anonymous,

Sounds good, let me know how it goes! If it doesn't work we can brainstorm other options as well.

Thanks,

Hi James,

OK, your second suggestion to "Clear user cache data" did not work either.

Any other suggestions?

Regards,

Brett

Hi @Anonymous,

Sorry to hear those suggestions didn't work! One final thought I have (and if this doesn't work, we will have to connect offline to take care of this) is to perform the following steps:

  • Open Windows Explorer (make sure Fusion is closed)
  • In the directory line (not the search bar) type %localappdata%/autodesk and then hit enter.
  • Open the Autodesk Fusion 360 Folder
  • Then the 4GTPNXWCUY4J folder
  • Then open W.login.
  • You should see a file called UploadQueuedFileList.xml. Delete this file and then restart Fusion.

Hopefully this one does the trick! If not, please private message me so we can set up something offline to take a deep peek at this.

Thanks,
