updating reference failures

I'm sure there's a way to do this but I can't seem to figure it out. Some sketches have changed and I guess the original reference points have been "forgotten". How does one go about "reminding" the sketch where it's references are?

Thank You! It would be nice if the original reference could be listed in the "Reference Failure" warning. It said "point" so I guess that's what threw me off the track. Even if it said "surface" that would have gone a long way in helping me identify how to fix the problem! It seems like the name of the reference could be in there, but maybe that's not feasible.

It seems that there is no way to clean up reference failures in some sketches, they stay dirty yellow forever, if the face reference upstream is lost for a project / intersect as there's no way to select the cached or old bad geometry to break links or delete it to tidy it up?

This isn't really that good guys, can we get some way to clean up old / outdated sketch reference failures e.g. from project>intersect (where the upstream face selection is gone)..

there should be some way to delete these old references out or purge / clear fusions use of old cache geometry in sketches  especially if the sketch is actually manually fixed up but the silly old reference fail still hangs around.

Hi @SEIZMICdesign,

Do you remember, which body have you deleted? When it says "Cache is used", that means you have deleted a body/sketch/plan which have been used as a reference.

If you can Undo the deletion, that will be great. If not, you will have to break the link inside the sketch (in yellow) or roll back the time line and re-create the body/sketch/plan that you have deleted (that will not be fun to do).

I'm sorry I should have posted here but we communicated through private message and sent SEIZMICdesign a fixed design. I needed to redefine sketch planes.

thanks for the reply Masanobu Minohara, its good that the other issue was fixed with redefine sk planes 🙂

Should we log a bug for the inability to purge or otherwise delete / clean out bad reference data from sketches that are impossible to clean up and remain yellow?

Ben when you remove ref data you can rebuild it to a new plane or if it's in a component you re ref it to the components origin. It is something to be carefull with and you should do it first before deleting.
