Unable to align body face to another's

Hi All,

I'm trying to align the face of a body (A) using face edge to pivot (B) to the face of another's (C & D) . I've tried both the Align and Move tools but so far have had no luck.

Anyone got any ideas?

Thanks

@obious

Can you File>Export your *.f3d file to your local drive and then Attach it here to a Reply?

Can you label Point A and B on the box component?

@obious Is this what you want?  Does it have to be moveable, if so you need to create some components.  Model attached.

@jhackney1972 @kacper.suchomski thanks for the responses, I should have been more clear that I don’t really want the object to move.

Maybe I could have done a better job at describing what I’m trying to do, but essentially I’d like to make the altitude faces of each body parallel with one another without moving either object

Thanks

What you describe you want is geometrically impossible.  One body MUST move, or change orientation, to become parallel to the other.  You can have them parallel to each other at some offset distance but one must move.

Hi! I believe you are looking to replacing the face so that it is aligned to the side. Replace Face in Modify panel should be the command to use. Please take a look at the attached f3d file.

Many thanks!
