Unable to add an appearance to a face

I added an SVG on to a face and created a sketch based on that, I then used the "Split face" tool to create a face based on the sketch, I then dragged an appearance on to the face but nothing happens when I do that, I attached the file in case you might want to have a look at it

I just figure out , you cant add appearance to that face . We can add appearance to that body , and other faces but not that face because of that image you added. If you want appearance , apply to whole body .

Thank you very much, but that wasn't the face I was talking about, my screencast for some reason didn't show up in my previous post, please have a look at this screencast, I know that it can be done because I have done it before, but now it isn't working

Sorry , Still not able to play video .    you can provide a image , and circle the faces in image where you are unable to add appearance .   I tried , I am able to add appearance to every face on that model . send me picture. 

Are you trying to add appearance to that seven Icons , in which three are been given appearance ? I have also given them appearance , by zooming them little closer .

Hello , Just figured out . there are two same bodies  , I think that's the reason face appearance is not applied . See the screencast .

Are you able to see screencast above . I have inserted it . If not see this image below .  There are two bodies , i think that the problem . So I deleted the body circled with red and visible the body 1 in bodies . and apply the appearance . It works .
