Text and rectangular pattern tool

I have a plate with 20 holes. I would like to put text centered under each hole about 3/8 below the hole. For a normal object I would make one then use the rectangular pattern tool. I tried selecting the text inside the rectangular pattern tool, but was unable to select the text. Does the rectangular tool work with text? If so how do I get it to work?

Hi,

Text cannot be patterned.
You can, however pattern  a sketch as part of a component.
Then there is also the possibility to copy and paste new instances, hide the parent instance and modify the new (independent) one with  individual text.

Could you extrude the text then pattern the Faces? Ideally you should create one hole and the text in a body then pattern the hole and text as a rectangular pattern feature.

Just in case you want different text for each hole where a pattern wouldn't work anyway, here's an idea. Create your circle with a line centred under it, pattern the circle and line then use the Text on line option to add text to each line. Now you still have a parametric pattern where you can edit the offsets.

Disappointed that the rectangular pattern tool doesn't work with text. It would have made this simpler. Maybe Autodesk can add that capability someday.

I ended up copying the first text block across the bottom row. After I made sure each text block was centered on each hole, I then copied  the bottom row of text to each of the other two rows. I then edited each block of text to the correct values.
