Snap to points from a different sketch?

So i created a few points on a vertical plane and now i want to snap a circle to those points in the horizontal plane. I created a new sketch but i can't snap to the other sketch. If i make the circle in the same sketch it forces me to use the same plane. If i change the sketch plane it moves my points. The only way it works is if i make the circle in the same sketch, on a vertical plane and then rotate it, but it's not ideal, so is there a way around this?

HI

I'm not quite getting what you're asking but have you investigated the 'Project' command in Sketch.

You can define the plane and then project onto it from others entities.

i just want to create a circle on the Z plane but when i create it i want the start and the end of the circle to snap to the points i created in the Y plane. If you start a sketch in the Y plane you are forced to work only on that plane. If you start another sketch you won't be able to sketch to a different plane.

So in short, how do i snap to a different sketch?

I don't see how project would help me in my situation, but thanks for the answer!

Actually lichtzeichenanlage solution included projecting the points, so you were right. Cheers! 🙂

So the only way to snap to points outside the sketch you are drawing is to project the other sketch on the active plane? This is a thing to improve in the next updates.

You can also turn on "auto project edges on reference" that will, as its name implies, automatically do the projection for you, if you are looking straight down at the sketch along its sketch normal.  Personally, I dislike this option, as it creates unnecessary projections, and I much prefer to project what I want into the sketch manually, but to each his own...

Thanks for the kind reply. It Works. The only thing that wasn't clear was that you have to Orthogonally face the sketch you want to have projected. Now it's clear.
