After installing the June update, fusion 360 runs horrible slow when working with larger assemblies.
The right click menu and command dialogs takes about 5-10 seconds to show up, and i'm experience some stuttering when navigating the model.
Trying to move a component into another assembly makes the application crash every time.
I had none of these performance problem prior to the update.
I have performed a clean uninstall, but no difference.
Anyone else experience the same problems?

Hi Tom,
Sorry to hear that you are having performance issues with your large assemblies. Can you please provide the below three information so that we can quickly take a look at what is happening with your models?
For all of the above you can directly send me the details to raj.kumar.ilanchelian@autodesk.com

Yeah, I also experience a major performance hit. Fusion 360 is not the best performer and a stable application is definitly not the term I would use in order to describe Fusion 360, but after the June update it is horrible.
- Sketching a simple outline (eight line segments, fully constrained), extruding it and having a path pattern modifier (why can construction lines not beused as paths?) on that object in one direction (making 10 adjacent copies) slows the whole application down a lot.
- Copying that 10 objects 10 times in a second direction leads either to the first crashes or slows down the application that much, that you can grab a cup of coffee while the beachball is spinning.
- In the case that Fusion 360 recoveres from the duplication terror the viewports becomes laggy as hell. I'm not speaking of a low framerate. I'm speaking of a delayed display of every command or mouse move I make. It's like watching a deja vu. If for some reasons that state recoveres, everything is smooth again. But at this state Fusion is just a viewer tool, every other command will slow it down again or make it crash.
Yesterday I sent over 10 crash reports within one hour to you guys at Autodesk.
My system may not be a Mac Pro powerhorse but it is enough to run Maya, Blender, Rhinoceros (which renders also freeform surfaces), FreeCAD and other tools without any problems or notable performance issues but Fusion 360.
Mac Book Pro 13'' - Early 2015 - 2,9Ghz i5 - 16GB RAM - OS X 10.10.3
My biggest wish for Fusion would be a weekly performance and stability update schedule. Forget more features... what is the use of all new features when you can not use them because simple tasks crashes the application?

I am having major troubles as well. I probably have had 8 to 10 crashes that generated CER's and as many hangs that I had to kill with task manager. Anything with downstream splits or combines seems to be causing the troubles. If I revise a sketch in such a way that Fusion might have to rethink the extrusions, it will hang or crash. I know that my model needs some cleaning up, but this wasn't happening before the update.
I have attached the diagnostic logs.

@BCAdair It seems you are experiencing the same error repeatedly based upon the submitted reports. I suspect this may have something to do with projected sketch geometry, but I will need to investigate further to be sure. Would it be possible to share the design you are repeatedly crashing with?
You can create a public link of the design and share it here or e-mail it to me at nathan.chandler@autodesk.com.
Thanks,

@MartinMajewski Since the June 20th release, I find only 3 error reports submitted from your e-mail address. When you send in the error reports is the e-mail address filled out?
These reports can be very useful to decipher what is happening.
As a generic tip, it may help to review how to optimize settings in Fusion 360 for performance.
An additional tip may be to note which video card is in use when using Fusion 360 via the Graphics Diagnostics command in the help (?) menu. For systems with dual graphics cards, it may be helpful to modify the energy saver settings.
For the below scenarios:

Do you have the sketch constraint preview enabled? Could you provide a screencast recording of some of these behaviors? From the above descriptions, I'm not able to discern the reproducible steps.
Note that if being able to use a construction line as a path (in a sweep or loft), could be a good Idea to add to the Fusion 360 Ideastaiton.
Thank you in advance for your help! I hope we can get to the bottom of this quickly.
Kind Regards,

Hi Martin,
Thanks for reporting this issue. We are really sorry that you are suffering from the performance issue. Would you help me clarify more details here with following questions?
1. After extrude, you are using "Rectangular pattern" command, not "Pattern on path" command, right?
2. When you choosing pattern direction, what curves are you using? The axis or some sketch lines or model edges?
2. Could you help post the file here using "Export..." under File menu or mail the design file to me via weining.cao@autodesk.com for further investigation?
Thanks,
Frank

I will capture some screenshots and provide more data asap.
No, my e-mail adress was not filled in every crash report, because it happened so often, that I got tired of typing it in - maybe the crash report should save this information after initial input?!
Will write back here soon...

No, I use the "pattern on path" tool to achieve this:
This modell originates from this sketch
Yeah, I have the preview option for sketch coloring activated. I turned it off now, restarted Fusion 360, but the performance is bad anyhow.
Indicating if a sketch is fully constrained (AND what parts are not!) is crucial for me, so I was impatiently awaiting this feature - having to turn it off again hurts bad.
As you can see there are a lot ob components inside the browser. This is because it is not clear for me how to organize my modell with Fusion 360 and it could be the reason for the performance loss. But having everything combined into a single object feels not right and makes problems when modifying the sketch afterwards, because of history-dependency issues. Hiding the generated subobjects is also a lot easier when you don't have to select every object seperately.
Maybe I miss something, but I can not see a feature like "Array pattern" or something similar that would just perform a clone by reference operation where only one object is hold in the memory and the others are just instances. 3ds max has this option for decades now...
But maybe the pattern tool does exaclty this only in an inconvenient and inefficient way?

Aaaaaaand... crashed!
I deleted all of the components and worked with only three (!!3!!) simple bodies. Then I divided the three bodies into three components (one component per body) to work on the parts separately. I couldn't find the point in history where I extruded one of the bodies, so I decided to delete it and start anew... crash.
Preview-option was turned off...
This is the kind of performance and stabiliy issues that makes me sooo sick of Fusion 360.
Crash report is out with my mail address inside...

Hi Martin,
I tried the similar workflow on my Macbook pro, seems I did not find obvious performance degrade. I used "Pattern on path" command and select new extruded component as input, I select one edge of the extrude as direction, copy 10 components. Then start patten on path command again, select another edge as second direction, copy 10 components again, I still did not find obvious lags.
Could you help record a video to show your problems? You can post it here or mail to me via weining.cao@autodesk.com. I am afraid I may not follow the exact steps like you. There might be some other special factors affecting the performance.
By the way, I have another question to you: Why don't you try rectangular pattern to finish your task? Usually "Pattern on path" is suitable for pattern on a special path like spline curves, etc. Maybe in this case, a rectangular pattern would better serve you. Can you see similar performance degrade by using rectangular pattern?
Thanks,
Frank
