Sketch selection color

did a quick search and kept getting info on color the item... so just gunna ask

OK.. when in sketch mode.. If I want to select a face or what ever, it turns from a light orange to a just slightly darker orange.  older and going blind it's very often hard to tell what is and isn't selected because the colors are too close. How can I go about changing the deleted area color to something like green so it really stands out that it's selected?

Have you tried playing with different Environment styles? This will change the colors of many things. 

In the below forum discussion, @ShirleyShi mentions that you can customize an XML file to modify the colors of things. You may be able to do something similar in this case.

I'm not sure I'm completely following your description. If you could post some screenshots of the selection behavior you are describing, it may be helpful.

pretty simple.. the one circle is selected, the other isn't.  Not hard to tell there but when there are multiple areas that are small you want to say, extrude but not others it's hard to start telling which are selected and which aren't.. would prefer the selected area to be like the opposite side of the color wheel like a green so my old eyes see it clearly  🙂 

one of the few things with Sketchup I did like (there weren't many) was I could assign my choice of colors to each part of the interface.. making it easy to rapidly see what was and wasn't selected.

No, I haven't looked at the environment... that may just be what i was looking for .. thanks  🙂

The select other tool may be able to help in this scenario, since you should be able to select the profiles from a list.

Hopefully, a different environment will make it a bit easier to see.

Outside of editing those XML files, there are no UI features that allow you to assign custom colors (at the moment). The best place to influence our development direction or request a feature is to vote in the Fusion 360 Ideastation. This is the board the product management team uses to influence their decision about which feature to implement next.

Were you ever able to figure out how to change that transparent orange fill in sketches? I too have a hard time sometimes telling the difference between selected, deselected, and rollover based on the current light orange fill color.

I was able to find the XML file the drives the colors for each Environment theme, but I have not yet figured out which particular value drives the fill color.

nope.. really wish they would change that setup.. it's rather annoying.

I think I am close to a temporary fix. I found the file to change it, just need a little guidance from the Fusion360 team to narrow in on the exact values I should be looking to edit.

Is there a way to save the sketch and add colour a different way if it is not possible in Fusion 360? I'm pretty new to fusion 360 and am still finding my way around. Appreciate any help
